Since retiring in 2022 I decided to try my skills at painting. I became a member of the Redwater Art Society in 2012 while still employed and that didn't work out for me as I found out if you're going to become an artist you have to have the time to put any learning skills into practice and if you don't have the time, your talents do not progress.
Since becoming a member again in 2023 I have the time to practice all of the skills, I'm learning now from the wonderful ladies at the art society every week many secret skills to become an artist (I think). Every week I learn something new and am finding painting so enjoyable.
Not sure what kind of an artist I will be, but I love the bold colours of acrylic paints and learning to paint in watercolours is very challenging and exciting. I have recently tried my hand at Oil painting and am finding that is very interesting, I love how it blends together.
