As an adult I have always had the desire to be creative, exploring painting, weaving, soap making and stained glass. I like watercolor and recently, alcohol ink on ceramic tile, both for the richness of color, how they mix to create new colors and the abstract possibilities. I have also used pastel, acrylics and encaustic wax. I have taken courses with: Graham Flatt, Frances Alty-Arscott, Susan Woolgar, Cindy Barratt, Sharon Ouellette, Willie Wong, Glenda Lewish, Jean Warren, Lorna Kemp and Lian Quan Zhen. I like artwork that is rich in color and evokes an emotional response. I admire the work of the late watercolorist Roland Roycraft, pastellist Richard McKinley and Alberta artist Marilyn Rife.
