I started painting in 1995 and love to work in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, pencil, colour pencil, wax encaustic, alcohol ink, airbrush and many sculpture materials as well. My favourite subjects are people and horse portraits, trees, flowers, birds, animals and seascapes. Most of my inspiration comes from my imagination, looking at the world around me and interpreting it in unique ways.
The Perfect Dress Series
The Perfect dress is the one that is made especially for all women. The texture of the material feels wonderful on our skin and the cut fits just right for our body type. The colours and the pattern designs lift up our spirits and make us feel special. This one dress evokes memories of the past and times of celebration.
The design elements may come from our society’s fashion, style, colours, textures, material designs or our own taste. Women from different countries consider the perfect dress as a garment that suites their climate, type of work and how they play.
This dress can be made by a designer, factory worker, dress maker or ourselves. Patterns, fabric and notions can be purchased in order to achieve our ultimate goal for this garment. When we purchase a dress off of the rack, it should be on that seems to be made just for you. Where ever it comes from it should make us feel enjoyment and confident.
The paintings in this series are based on the colours and patterns that we see on birds and animals and how we find these elements useful for making materials for clothing.
