I have always drawn pictures, then Mom gave me a paint by number set when I was sixteen. So fun. And with the paint I had left over I painted a bear in a forest setting. My Dad bought me a set of paints, brushes, canvases and a case. I have painted ever since. I took a water colour course with Cecile Derkatch and loved it. I paint with acrylic but my real love is oil. I painted Jesus and the children in a Church, have done lots of wall murals, painted Easter, Christmas, Halloween, etc on windows. So fun. I retired and have taught children and adults to paint with oil for the last twenty years. So much fun to see people do such good work. I have taken classes with Derek Wicks, Jerry Markham, Willie Wong, Doug Downey, Gene Prokop. Classes with Doug Downey was knife painting in Newfoundland and it was wonderful. I took only a knife and paint and wondered why I didn’t take my brushes. But after a couple of days I found I loved the knife and I love sitting out in the wilderness using the knife. I illustrated a book “The Fort Nelson Storey” by Gerry Young. My heart and soul live for painting, drawing and anything in the Arts.
