After painting in school life interrupted for about fifty years, during which I raised four kids, making clothes, cakes, toys, dolls and painting scenery, murals and any thing else for several schools. I then taught pottery for 30 years. When arthritis prevented me from potting I took a few evening classes at Northgate Seniors Centre to jump start me into painting again. Having painted with acrylics and water colour over the years I am now exploring new mediums, pastel, coloured pencil and alcohol inks. I paint portraits of animals and people and also abstract landscapes. Being partially colour blind, colour is the thing for me. My paintings are bright and vibrant so that I can see the colours. I have painted all my children and their families and pets, also my neighbours and their families and pets. I work mostly from photos as I cannot get kids or animals to sit still long enough for me. I like painting the faces of animals and people best.
